i had no idea she was married due to the fact that she hid her wedding ring.
i even ask if she was in a relationship and she denied it.
Fight to be in those kids lives. They will need a stable non crazy parent to help them. Because of the circumstances of their birth, they will be looked down upon by other JWs, and who knows how their step father will treat them.
and do not trust a verbal agreement with their mother, ever, about anything. Get it recorded in court.
the britain/america whoever has got talent is some thing i drop in on.
its uplifting with talent displayed and fun had by all and seeing the brilliant and the very young like issy the 8 yo magician take the stage is everything warm.. am i an old softy you damn bet i am... cheers.
Its fun to watch people do something they love and to pursue their dreams. The kids on those types of shows blow me away. 😀
i finally stopped attending the meetings about 4 months go.
i won't be going back - ever.. but i've decided the best reply to the watchtower is to be happy and i do try to be happy every day even thought i wasted my entire life on this religion.
i cherish every day, practice mindfulness and do my best to be content with the life i have.. it is only now that i see that most jws i know are deeply unhappy people.
Most of the JWs I knew have no control of their emotions, and have overly emotional responses to everything. It is exhausting to be around them. In my own family, my sister is miserable, and she is mean and vindictive, even by worldly standards.
i think getting them to agree to a private place would give you an edge (even if the egde of their sword closer to home).
if i'm ever hauled before their kangaroo court i will only go on one of three conditions .1 non jw venue .2 with legal representation .
3 the recording of proceedings.
For the past almost 20 years I have just refused to engage anything JW related. It is hard, but why even waste my time getting into a discussion that has no merit and certainly no bearing on my life. Everything the JWs have to offer is based on lies. The fact that they passionately believe the lies is of no consequence. Just walk away, no time, very busy, goodbye.

I think that you are exactly right - JWs think that if a blood transfusion is needed it is the surgeons fault. And teaching people that non-blood alternatives are appropriate in every situation or is the same as blood. In my experience Dr.s don't go to a blood transfusion as treatment unless it is needed.
Its the misinformation and taking away of the choice to save your life that is criminal in my opinion. I hope there is a very public review of all of this.
why do elders ask such perverted questions during judicial meetings?

People answer because they are conditioned to think they have to. When I was leaving, the therapist I saw said, just because someone asks you a question, doesn't mean you have to answer it. It was empowering at that time, because it put me back in control of my life.
i told a relative of mine to answer with "that is a private matter and it would be disrespectful to myself and my girlfriend to discuss our sex life with other people."
i have not been to a meeting for about 2 years now.
i do not intend to go back but one thing has me baffled.
why do ones that have faded and been out for years return?
DY - we were all in this cult at some point in time so lying about the cult doesn't work.
I am getting tired of you preaching about how great the JW lifestyle is. It isn't, it keeps from living their lives and reaching their potential. It ruins people's lives, keeps them captive even when they want to be free. The people are not perfect and they subscribe to archaic policies that hurt abuse victims. Even my own family shun disfellowshipped ones, in a sadistic ritual meant to emotionally blackmail people to return to cult life. Yep they are all great loving people 🙄
my dad died of a blood clot as a result of surgery late last year.
to say that his death created a bottomless void in our family is an understatement.
i think about him every day, sometimes constantly.
I am so sorry for your loss. I think each of us grieves differently and I do think therapy is helpful.
For me changing my perspective helped some. What would my deceased loved one want for me? He would have wanted me to live my life, he would not have wanted me to be unbearably sad. I also found ways to honor him, and sometimes when having a particularly good time I still say "xxxx would have loved this."
Mostly just be kind to yourself, this is never easy. Hugs ❤️
i'll share mine first.... i had never missed a memorial for at least a quarter of a century of my life.
i was kind of raised to believe that missing the memorial was a sin in itself.. by 2013 memorial season, i was missing most of my meetings (even though i was still technically part of my foreign language congregation), and i had just come off the pioneer list.
i still made plans to attend the memorial (god forbid if i missed that lol).. i knew that typically our memorials were around 9 pm, since we usually got last priority (being a foreign language hall and all).
The last time I went to a memorial (almost 20 years ago) I wore a pantsuit. You should have seen the looks I got :-)
im giving up guys.
i've reached the end of my patience and now i finally refuse to waste any more time on part-time witnesses.
i've text all of my active jw family members and told them to delete my number from their phone and never contact me again.
I don't even attempt to speak to my siblings, it's too hard. They are ignorant and arrogant, but, of course when you have the "truth" everyone else is stupid 🙄
